This means that our firm intention is to remain modest in size and that we have no aspirations to become a large and impersonal organisation like so many we all seem to encounter these days. That way we can remain truly focussed on delivering an outstanding service to a small number of private clients and their families.

We are completely independent, have no ties to fund managers, banks or insurance companies and no external shareholders intent on driving sales volumes. We are answerable only to our clients and to our regulator, the Financial Services Authority and no one else.

Alan’s first job was as a graduate trainee with a boutique firm of investment managers in the City of London. After a successful spell learning the ropes, he left to join one of the largest financial services groups in Europe where he spent almost 15 years and progressed to a Senior Account Manager role based in the West End of London.

Working with some of the UK’s leading financial services practitioners, Alan amassed a wealth of experience in the key areas including retirement planning strategies, investment management and creative tax planning for private clients.

When the opportunity arose to join a small but ambitious advisory practice, Alan decided to move on and become a founding Director of Capital Asset Management. He heads the team of financial planning consultants and provides specialist advice to an exclusive group of high net worth private clients.
