Looks like sites like www.rubii.co.uk will be more in demand for the public seeking financial advice.... I came across this on MGM Advantage's website yesterday.....
Consumers ''Using Business Social Networks'' to Find IFAs
25 November 2008 13:54
Sites on the internet are being increasingly used by customers looking for independent financial advisers (IFAs).
According to new research from IFA network IFA Life, 47 per cent of Brits would use the internet to find an adviser.
Within that total, one third said that they would use business networking sites such as LinkedIn or Xing - while just one in twelve planned to use a search engine.
Around one per cent cited Facebook or MySpace, meanwhile.
Philip Calvert, founder and chief executive of IFA Life, said: "We''ve known for a while that business social networks can be of great value as a tool to help IFAs find new clients, because many are already benefiting.
"But now we have a survey which suggests that some consumers are now consciously making a point of searching these sites to help them find professional financial advice rather than going straight to a search engine"
